The International Taekwondo Day is celebrated annually on September 4th in all over the world and Iranian Taekwondo athletes participated in a big gathering to celebrate “International Taekwondo Day on Tuesday August 27 in Azadi stadium, Tehran.

The International Taekwondo Day is celebrated annually on September 4th in all over the world and the celebration was held simultaneously in all Iranian cities. Iranian Taekwondo athletes also participated in a big gathering to celebrate “International Taekwondo Day on Tuesday August 27 in Azadi Stadium, Tehran.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Iranian Taekwondo Federation, this celebrating conducted with the assistance of different managers, coaches, athletes and Taekwondo fan lovers. More than 12000 people attended in this big gathering. Meanwhile the Iranian Taekwondo Federation president, Dr. Seyed Mohammad Pouladgar congratulated the world Taekwondo Day to all Taekwondo family and WTF president, Dr.Chung Won Choue specially.

Teaching Taekwondo in Iran began in 1970 by Korean military advisors and by the means of coaches' attempt as well as Taekwondo veterans it was developed.The first official organization of Taekwondo named armed forces Taekwondo Association started its own activity in 1976.
