Khanlarkhani: Paralympic Athletes train purposefully and motivationally. Training camp for Asian Championships to Start in March

Payam Khanlarkhani, the head coach of Iran Parataekwondo team has stated that the two Iranian parataekwondo athletes, Mahdi Poorrahnama and Asghar Azizi who will attend in Tokyo Paralympic Games are in good conditions, without any serious injuries and train purposefully and motivationally.

He added that the Para taekwondo athletes Mahdi Poorahnama and Asghar Azizi are in the fourth stages of their trainings and they have technical and body building trainings twice a day.

 

We decided to analyze all the rivals, but our concentration has been on past events due to the pandemic, he said. “Right now there is no news about the rivals from other countries but in the current year we can analyze the rivals by tracking the Asian & European Championships.”

He emphasized that the training camp were closed for about 6 months but form September the athletes began their trainings and they are completely ready to achieve good results in the debut of Para taekwondo in Paralympic Tokyo 2021.

The Iranian Parataekwondo athletes are going to participate in the 6th Asian Championships in April, and they will start training camp in March.

The Paralympic athletes are also the members of Iranian national team and they participate in preparatory events in order to get necessary scores and have good rankings in Paralympic seeding system.

Iran taekwondo federation has prepared all the facilities for Para taekwondo athletes, including Corona virus tests and health facilities. The training coach of the team in the camp is Mahdi Ahmadi.
