Asaseh Stands in the 3rd place in Riyadh

Kosar Asaseh achieved the bronze medal in the 1st World Taekwondo Women's championships in Riyadh.

It the end day of the 1st World Taekwondo Women's championships in Riyadh, Kosar Asaseh in -62 Kgs category gained the bronze medal and add 14.40 scores to her Olympic rankings.

A total of 62 athletes were in action on day one of competition which saw some of the world’s best athletes in the female -46kg, -62kg and +73kg kicking off the competition.

In the women’s -62kg, Brazil’s Caroline Santos beat Germany’s Anna-lena Froemming 20-3 to set up a final against the Czech Republic’s Petra Stolbova who overcame Iran’s Kosar Asaseh 7-6 in the other semi-final.

The head coach who leads the team is Mahroo Komrani and the coach is Reyhaneh Fooladi.

Winning athletes will secure 40.0 ranking points with second and third place taking 24 and 14.4 ranking points respectively.
