Fifteen Iranian Taekwondo Athletes Achieve 13 Medals in Konya

Iran National Taekwondo Team stood in the first place of ISG Taekwondo in Turkey by achieving 13 medals

Iran Taekwondo Federation - Iran taekwondo national team participated in the one-year-postponed 5th Islamic Solidarity Games Taekwondo competitions held in Konya from 9th to 12th August 2022; the second world arena after the Korea Asian Championships.

15 Iranian male and female taekwondo young talents achieved 13 gold, silver & bronze medals in Konya 2021 paving the way to a further glorious future.

In the 5th ISG Konya 2021, the seven  Iranian female taekwondo athletes obtained one gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals in comparison while the same result was achieved in the previous edition of the Games held in Baku 2017 (1 gold, 2 silvers and 3 bronzes), with one additional athlete, 8 in total.  

In the Baku 2017 and Konya 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games, the same number of eight Iranian male taekwondo athletes participated, but with a significant increase in the number of gold medals in Konya 2021; national taekwondo male athletes succeeded to gain 4 gold and 3 bronze medals compared to 2017 where they could only achieve 1 gold, 3 silvers and 2 bronzes. 

Iran national taekwondo team in male and female groups achieved 5 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals in total and stood in the 1st place higher than Uzbekistan with 3 gold and 4 bronze medals, Morocco with 3 gold, 2 silvers and 4 bronzes and Turkey in the third place with 2 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze ones.

.The only athletes who could not achieve medals were Zahra Pouresmaeil and Danial Bozorgi although well-qualified
