Iran deaf taekwondo team becomes champion of Kyrgyzstan Asia Oceania Games

The 2023 Kyrgyzstan Asia and Oceania Deaf Taekwondo Championship ended tonight and the Iranian athletes gained 9 gold, one silver and two bronze medals ranking first in the old continent and Oceania.

In this first 2023 Kyrgyzstan Asia and Oceania Deaf Taekwondo Championship hosted by Bishkek, Kazakhstan, on the 2nd and last day of the athletic competitions on Friday, March 3rd, in George section the Iranian men's team in first five weights gained three gold and two bronze medals.

In that section Iran's Vahid Zeinali, Mohammad Zafarani and Behzad Amiri gained gold medal, and Amir-Salar Amirifard won a bronze medal.

At the end of the competitions the Iranian team winning 9 gold medals, a silver and two bronze medals in men's and women's fields gained the Asia and Oceania championship ranking.

The George results of the men's taekwondo is as follows:

58kg:

Amir-Salar Amirifard lost his first game to his competitor from Kazakhstan to miss the final and gain a bronze medal.

63kg:

Morteza Safasefat lost his first game to game to his competitor from Kazakhstan to win another bronze medal.

68kg:

Vahid Zeinali beat his competitor from Kazakhstan and his rival from Uzbekistan did not attend the competition so he won the gold medal of that weight.

74kg:

Behzad Amiri beat the South Korean athlete in his first match and a host team, Kyrgyzstan competitor in the final to win the gold medal.

80kg:

Mohammad Zafarani began with beating his competitor from Kazakhstan and them an athlete from Uzbekistan to win another gold medal.

The medals awarding ceremony of the championship was in the presence of Dr. Preger, the head of Asia and Oceania Deaf Taekwondo Federation and Akupian, the head of Kazakhstan Deaf Taekwondo Federation.
